Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the mobile application CPianoS (hereinafter "App") provided by the CPianoS operator (hereinafter "Provider"). The App is provided on an AS IS basis.

1. Information Collection and Use

The App does not require user registration and does not collect any personally identifiable information from users. The App does not communicate with external servers and does not send user information to the Provider or any third party.

Based on the user's explicit actions, the App uses the following device features:

Camera: Used to capture and import paper sheet music.
Photos: The iOS photo picker is used to select images of sheet music or covers. The App only reads the images the user selects.
Files: The iOS file picker is used to import sheet music PDFs and images. The App only reads the files the user selects.
Speech: The speech synthesis feature built into iOS is used to read note names aloud.
Live Activities: While practice time is being tracked, elapsed time and related information are shown on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island.

All data, including imported sheet music images, sheet music recognition results, practice records, and settings, is processed and stored only on the device and is never sent to or stored on external servers. Sheet music recognition is also performed on the device. The App does not use location information, contacts, or the microphone.

2. Third-Party Services

The App does not include any third-party services (SDKs) for advertising, usage analytics, crash reporting, or similar purposes. The App does not track users across apps or websites owned by other companies.

If the user has enabled "Share With App Developers" in iOS Settings, some crash and diagnostic information collected by Apple may be shared with the Provider through Apple. This information is handled in accordance with Apple's Privacy Policy, and the Provider uses it solely to fix defects in the App.

3. Data Storage

The App does not store user data on external servers. All data handled by the App is kept on the user's device, and its management is entrusted to the device's operating system. If device backups (such as iCloud Backup) are enabled, App data is included in backups according to the standard behavior of the operating system. If the App is uninstalled, related data will be deleted according to the standard behavior of the device.

4. Children's Privacy

The App can be used by people of all ages. The App does not collect personally identifiable information from any user, including children.

5. Security

The Provider strives to protect user information. The App uses the security mechanisms provided by the operating system (Data Protection) to ensure the safety of information processed on the device.

6. Future Features

If the Provider adds features in the future that involve external communication or the collection of information, such as paid features (in-app purchases or subscriptions), advertisements, or integration with external services, the Provider will revise this Privacy Policy in advance and clearly state what information is collected and for what purpose. Payments for in-app purchases are processed by Apple, and the Provider does not obtain payment information.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time as necessary. Any changes will be posted on this page, and the last updated date and effective date will be updated accordingly. Users are encouraged to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the App following any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
